What I Do
You may want to make a lifestyle, career or relationship change, or simply make peace with a situation or person you cannot change.
If you are living with an illness, injury or disability you may be looking for support and resources from a counselor with the expertise to help you enjoy greater well-being and quality of life.
I counsel in a “coach like” way, providing you with the guidance you need to help clarify and achieve your goals.
What to Expect
Our work together can be brief and solution focused or longer term. You may want to take greater responsibility for certain life choices or leave behind patterns or behaviors that no longer serve you well.
How to schedule an appointment
My hours are flexible and by appointment. Call, text or email me to arrange a meeting time. Where your insurance carrier allows, follow up sessions may be scheduled via secure interactive video conferencing if that is an approach we agree that would work well.
I accept most insurances, MaineCare, and I am a contracted vendor for the state of Maine DHHS. I am also proud to be the Preferred Employee Assistance Provider for Abbott Labs' Scarborough, Maine location.
Why I Do this Work
I believe in the value of ongoing personal growth and living as consciously and courageously as possible. Are you ready to live with more intention and become the best version of yourself?
I began my career in human services in my 20's as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for adults and adolescents with a broad range of abilities and disabilities.
I also learned American Sign Language and began working with members of Maine's Deaf community in my 20's, which I am honored to continue.
I am passionate about serving individuals with a range of sensory and physical abilities and disabilities--including conditions that are congenital or acquired, temporary or lifelong--who want to live as fully and independently as possible.
I have directed programs, supervised employees and worked within state government, education, within large corporations, hospitals, and non-profits. I have had the privilege of leading services that serve individuals locally and nationally. As a result I have a broad set of skills and knowledge of resources to share.
As a life-long learner I recognize that each person's process is unique and "one size does not fit all." For that reason I offer a range of approaches, including brief solution focused counseling, mindfulness based techniques and longer term Jungian-informed psychotherapy.
I look forward to working together!
