What I Do
You may want to make a lifestyle, career or relationship change.  Or simply make peace with situations or people you cannot control.
During these times of rapid change and uncertainty the ability to respond rather than react, and to remain flexible, are critical to overall wellness!

If you are living with anxiety or depression, managing an illness or chronic health condition, or coping with the effects of past traumatic events--
expert support and practical coping strategies can help to feel more in charge, and enjoy a greater sense of well-being.

I believe freedom comes from "moving past your past", making choices that best align with your personal values, and learning more effective ways of coping and relating to others.

What to Expect
Our work together can be brief and solution focused or longer term.  I am trained in evidence based approaches targeted to individuals' unique goals and learning styles.

How to schedule an appointment
My hours are flexible and by appointment. I offer services both face to face and via secure Teletherapy.  Call, text or email me to arrange a time to confidentially discuss your needs and goals, and to schedule a time to meet.

I accept most insurances and am a contracted vendor for the state of Maine. I am also proud to be the Preferred Employee Assistance Provider for Abbott Labs' Scarborough, Maine location.

Why I Do this Work
I believe in the value of ongoing personal growth and living as  consciously as possible--recognizing that this requires courage, patience, consistent intention and practice.
My mother was a therapist.  Her dedication to this work inspired me to enter the field, and the rewards I experience working with individuals every day keeps me engaged and energized.

My Experience
I began my career in human services in my 20's as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for adults and adolescents with
a broad range of abilities and disabilities.  Later I acquired my clinical professional mental health training and specific training in EMDR--an accelerated approach to addressing and reducing the effects of adverse, overwhelming life events.

Also in my 20's I began learning American Sign Language and working with members of Maine's Deaf community, which I am honored to continue.
I am passionate about serving individuals with a broad range abilities and disabilities--including conditions that are congenital or acquired, temporary or lifelong--who want to live as fully and independently as possible.

My experience includes directing mental health programs and services,  working within state government and education, and as a leader in large corporations, hospitals, and non-profits.  I have had the privilege of leading services for individuals and families both locally and nationally.  As a result I have a broad set of skills and knowledge of resources to share.

Each person is unique and "one size does not fit all." For that reason I offer a range of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral therapies, brief solution focused counseling, mindfulness based techniques, accelerated results to "move past your past" via EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and longer term Jungian-informed psychotherapy.

I look forward to working together!
